What Students Say:

  • I found the 7 lesson challenge online searching how to meditate. I was pretty frustrated with silent meditation because my mind is so crazy, I cannot concentrate!! Meditation with mantra is much more suitable for me with how my mind and emotions are. I found the lessons straightforward and soothing, and they gave me some incentive and discipline to start meditating with the Hare Krishna mantra daily. Looking forward to the next course too!

What You'll Learn
Lesson 1
Everything You Need to Get Started!
In this lesson you’ll learn what is a mantra, what is the maha-mantra and what makes it special, how to meditate using the maha-mantra and the benefits you can expect from your mantra meditation practice. Moreover, we will share practical tips and guidelines recommended by experienced meditators to help it make it easier for you to get into the proper meditative state.
Lesson 2
Go Beyond Your Body
With practice, you will experience your real identity as a soul, a spiritual spark beyond the physical body, beyond the mind and even the intelligence. Knowing philosophically the true eternal nature of the self as separate from the temporary and perishable body is the first step towards actually experiencing these profound realisations. In this lesson, you will play a deceptively simple yet profound game to get you thinking about who you really are.
Lesson 3
Unlock the Doors of Self-Perception
Learn the ancient science of sound vibrations as described in the classical philosophical texts known as Vedas, of which the Bhagavad Gita is the crowning jewel. Transform your consciousness by utilising the profound power of the maha-mantra.
Lesson 4
Call Out to the Divine
The maha-mantra is unlike any other word or phrase, or sentence in an ordinary language. It is a sound vibration invested with spiritual potency to invoke the divine source, the supreme personality. To revive our dormant consciousness, which has forgotten its own eternal nature and relationship with the divine. Explore these deeper aspects of the maha-mantra in this lesson.
Lesson 5
Kirtan! Meditate Better, Together.
The mind can be incredibly distracting and out of control. Trying to tame the monkey mind can be really challenging. What if there was a better way to meditate? In this lesson, we explore the incredibly powerful, yet enjoyable and easy practice of Kirtan - the act of singing the maha-mantra together, which helps one to easily achieve a meditative state and stay there. Check it out if you are having trouble meditating alone!
Lesson 6
Introduction to Bhakti - The Origin of All Yoga!
Today Yoga has become synonymous with a series of physical exercises and postures or some breathwork at the maximum, intended to promote longevity, vitality, and good physical and mental health. While all of these are no doubt wonderful and should be utilized, they are not the ultimate purpose of Yoga. Then what is you ask! Find out in this lesson.
Lesson 7
Find Your Own Routine and Make Steady Progress
A consistent, disciplined and committed meditation practice is the ONLY way to make progress and enter deeper meditative states. This is where the truly profound experiences and realisations begin to unlock. In this last lesson, we discuss what you can do to make mantra meditation an integral part of your life and build good habits around your practise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is chant now?
Chantnow.com is a dedicated team of monks, professionals, and volunteers with decades of experience in mantra-meditation, which is the heart of bhakti-yoga or devotional service. We live the lifestyle and personally practice what we share in our classes as per our individual capacities. Our teachings are based on the ancient wisdom texts such as the Bhagavad Gita, as presented by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, also known as the Hare Krishna movement, and form the spiritual foundation of the meditation training offered in our classes.
What is the maha mantra?
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

The literal meaning of maha-mantra is “The Great Chant of Deliverance.” While there are many mantras like ‘OM’ etc., the maha-mantra is the most powerful mantra in existence, also known as the Hare Krishna mantra. It has been a core practice of the ancient Bhakti Yoga tradition for thousands of years. Regular chanting of this mantra under proper guidance relieves one from stress, anxiety, and depression and instantly puts the practitioner in touch with a higher transcendental reality. Whether you are looking to improve your mental well-being, have greater focus and clarity, or have a genuine spiritual experience, meditating on this mantra will help you achieve your goals quickly.
Is chanting a form of meditation?
Yes! In fact, it is the best and easiest technique for meditation because it uses the transformative power of sound, allowing the restless wandering mind to concentrate on it easily and not get easily distracted by mental chatter, which is the number one source of distraction for beginners. Chanting on beads is especially beneficial, as it engages the sense of touch and speech and auditory functions in the meditation process.
What is bhakti yoga?
Bhakti is derived from the Sanskrit word bhaj, which means – loving service. Bhakti-yoga means to connect to the Supreme by means of loving devotional service. The path of bhakti-yoga is developed through a variety of activities. These include mantra meditation or the chanting of the names Hare Krishna. The chanting is done either individually or in the community by chanting mantras accompanied by music (kirtan). The study of sacred texts such as the Bhagavad-gita, associating with like-minded spiritual aspirants, eating sanctified vegetarian food, and living in a way that upholds the principles of truthfulness, mercy, austerity, and cleanliness, are all core practices for a life of followers of bhakti.
Who is Srila Prabhupada?
Srila Prabhupada is the founder acharya (spiritual head) of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Srila Prabhupada not only brought bhakti yoga and the Hare Krishna maha-mantra to the western world but also circled the globe 14 times on lecture tours, bringing the teachings of Lord Krishna to thousands of people on six continents.
